I just found this and absolutely love it. I started a prayer to Santa Monica and immediately shared it with my sister via email.

Such a beautiful app!
Friends are surprised to find the Novena app on my iPhone. Im a lifelong atheist, from a non-Catholic background , the last person whom one would expect to have bought this app. I did buy it, though, because of the beauty of the carefully selected cards, and the thoughtful research on the interesting lives of the Saints. I also find it fascinating to look at which particular Saint is called upon to help with particular situations. Whether one is religious or not , theres no denying the richness of the art, music and literature that has derived from the church. I recommend this app to anyone who is interested in the arts, as well as those who are religious.
In addition to the prayers you also get the history of the saints. Illustrated by these beautiful holy cards.
Not only is this app gorgeous, but as soon as I finished my novena I met a wonderful man!
With my twins going off to college, I am praying everyday that they succeed. I saw this awesome app and now I say Novenas on the subway. It soothes my soul and gives me faith that everyone will just fine. Thank you Ms Calamari and Ms Depasqua. Two Italian girls. Who would have thunk.
The novena app is not only beautiful and inspiring, it allows us access to Patron Saints and their fascinating stories. These stories make us believe in miracles and the power of prayer. I have had some family conflict that is truly heart-breaking. it had been ongoing for several weeks. I started my novena to the Sacred Heart-Patron of Family Peace. Within days a prayer became a reality.
As someone more interested in the imagery and history of the Saints, I found the app to be very informative and beautiful! I love the zoom feature on the cards which allows you to really get in close on the details. Hi res images look gorgeous! I also appreciated the explanation of the symbology in the images. Really informative bonus! And the ability to add the feast dates is nice too. Im looking forward to seeing how they improve on it in future updates.
Novena is an entire book on my phone! It is so well written, providing a fasinating look into the lives of the Saints and the power of prayer. I can even transform my phone into a beautiful work of art with one of its many holy images. This app is a great value !
Great thinkers, scientists, artists and philosophers have recognized the life-transforming power of prayer and meditation. The novena, a special prayer said over nine days (novena is Latin for nine), can be a form of meditation. The images and lives of the saints and the prayers in this beautiful app are an inspiration to anyone – religious or not – seeking to develop the power of the conscious and unconscious and connect to the collective unconscious. Praying the novenas, reading about the saints’ lives or simply looking at the art can be another way to experience life’s spiritual secrets and the power of the universe.
Beautiful app! Love the old-school looking prayer cards.
The Novena App combines beautiful art with inspiring stories. Often, we think of saints as having been very different from us. However, their lives and ours bear striking similarities. They suffered loss, disappointment, rejection, disease, heartache, or addiction just like us, the not-yet-so-saintly. Where they differed is perseverance. You and I are still in the thick of it. For the saints, obstacles were no less real, but they did not discourage their faith in a God who loved them, and through that love transformed ordinary human beings into exemplary models.
Love that it gives background on saint and glossary.
This app is full of information about the Saints. I enjoy reading about the Saints and it is great to have access to the info on my phone. I like having the novenas to my favorite Saints all in one place. You can find the history of the Saints, Feast Days, what they are the Patron of and what the symbols pictured in the beautiful vintage holy cards from Fr. Eugene Carrellas collection mean. I highly recommend this beautiful app!
Beautiful app! It is interesting to read about these saints and what they can help one with.
Ive been looking for a collection of novenas. Beautiful artwork and I love the included history.
A very pretty app but woefully missing the Novena to the Holy Ghost. It is after all the oldest of all novena as it was institute by the Lord himself, when he sent his apostles back to Jerusalem to await the Holy Ghost. I pray that it will soon appear in an update.
Between the fantastic artwork, the powerful prayers, and the exhaustive details on each featured Saint, this app is a fantastic resource for the faithful and the curious. I eagerly look forward to seeing new Saints and Novenas added in the future!
Some buttons like the "add to favorite" doesnt work on all pages. I was also looking for the complete Mother of Perpetual Help Novena, hoping it was part of this app
Though it’s a beautiful looking app and has the potential to be fantastic, I was very disappointed to find that it lists only 36 saints!!! That’s barely a scratch on the surface of sainthood. There are more than 10,000 canonized saints in the Roman Catholic church alone, and while I didn’t expect a card for all of them, I certainly didn’t expect to find just 36 in this app! There are also strangenesses to be found. St. Clare of Assisi is listed as a patron saint of “Television Work.” Say what? She was canonized in 1255, yeah I just bet all the folks working in television around that time were grateful for that! This app needs a LOT more work. Don’t waste your money.
